It’s been a while since last post on this site. Recently, I have been a bit busy. Well, actually, really really busy. In June, I was one of the team to teach a photography course for beginners, and I have been organizing for the up-coming exhibitions tour for 2015-2016. In this post, I am going to share some photos when I was trying to use 21 mm lens on streets.
又是拖拉一段时间没有发布任何东西了。这段时间，有些忙，应该说是非常忙。六月份，跟其他几位老师一起给一个初级摄影班讲课。摄影班结束后，就是要准备和策划接下来的2015-2016的中国巡回展览。今天就跟大家扯扯我尝试用21mm的镜头扫街的事情吧。

Starting from last year, I started to think if I can have a bit more background and shoot close to my subject， that would be something new I could discover. So I decided to use my 21mm lens on the trip at end of last year( An post about this Dali trip. ). Of course, I need to practice on this view-angle. All the photos shared on this post all taken with my 21mm.
去年自己开始会很深入的检视自己在街头摄影的照片，下半年的时候我开始想，如果我可以在自己扫街的照片里面多一点背景或者是离我想要拍摄的主体更加近一点，我会不会感受些不一样的新东西？所以我就计划着带上我的21mm镜头回国，作为整个行程的主力镜头之一。当然，我需要熟悉这个镜头。这也就是今天分享的这些照片的来源，都是21mm的扫街照片。

21mm is bit wider than 24mm/25mm, but quite wider than 28mm or 35mm. If you shoot with a 35mm lens on street, normally, 2-3 meters would be closest distance you would have in the most situations. But, 21mm is a different story, quite different. On the first time I use my 21mm on street, I was focus to get more background instead of getting too close. You could spot my 35mm habits on the photos in this post. Composite your photos with more background on a wider lens on street is not an easy thing. Specially, when I am shooting this 21mm lens with an EVF on my Leica M240. The EVF + M240 combo perform badly at that time, lags a lot, sometimes camera would be freezes until you plug the battery out. (Thankfully, Leica just released an new firmware two weeks ago to fix those problems related to EVF and Live-view. )
21mm的视角比24mm要稍微广一点，但是比28mm和35mm要广很多。如果你喜欢用35mm的镜头，大多数情况下2-3米是你跟你拍摄主体最近的距离。但是对于21mm来说，就是一个不同的概念。这天扫街的时候，我更多的是想要锻炼自己用这只镜头让自己练习怎样把更多的背景放到照片里面。在拍照的时候，构图不是一件简单的事情。特别是用徕卡M240的电子取景器的时候,M240用EVF的时候各种的慢，还经常卡死机，需要拔掉电池才能解决的这样情况。（徕卡两周前更新了M240和M-P240的固件，解决了一系列关于EVF和live-view的问题。）

At the time when I shooting with 21mm, I pay more attention to get background right,then think about or wait for the foreground. This slowed me down and make me to think more. It doesn’t feel like what I have been shooting with a 35mm or 50mm lens， because on a 35mm or 50mm, just concentrate on subjects/foreground still could make good photos. This makes me to observe more into details than before, even in the places that I have been thousands of times. And it makes me to know this city, and eventually love this beautiful city more.
当我用21mm拍照的时候，更多的是先观察背景，然后在去思考或等待前景。这样让我在拍照的时候慢下来去思考的更多，跟我平时用35mm还有50mm的时候不一样,因为在用35mm或者是50mm的时候哪怕只有前景或者是主体还是可以拍出好照片。这样的拍摄习惯让我更多去观察细节，哪怕是那些我已经去了无数次的地方。也让我更多的了解了这个城市，让我跟多的喜欢这个城市。
